Columbiana spending $10,000 for software

LISBON -- Columbiana County Sheriff David Smith said Thursday it will take about $10,000 to improve software used by his department.
The software is used to send a wide variety of information between the courthouse and the jail located west of Lisbon has been running very slowly.
Smith told the Columbiana County Data Processing Board he planned to hire Glenn Hayes, director of Business IT Solutions of East Liverpool, to do the work.
The data processing board approved the purchase of a new microfilm reader, printer and scanner for the county Recorder's Office and a payment device for copies. The total price was $9,186.
Recorder Craig Brown said repairs to the old microfilm machine were running almost $4,000 a year.
