Highlights of Wednesday's meeting:
Hired Rico Rotunna as a truck driver/labor in the department of public works effective Monday. He will be paid $18.43 an hour after a 120-day probationary period.
Hired James Campbell as a part-time patrol officer effective July 1. A retired Howland police detective, he will be paid $10.91 an hour.
Appointed Kris Dillon as interim foreman in the department of public works at $22.43 hourly.
Declared eight properties as nuisances because of high grass. The township will mow the grass and place a $150 lien on each the property. They are 2778 North Road; 3891 Bruce Drive; 8964 Stetson Drive; 3728 Valacamp Ave.; 136 Highland Terrace; 9359 Doral Drive; 8445 Old Farm Trail; and 2911 Fairview Ave.
