TCESC to close to complete move

WARREN -- Operations at the Trumbull County Educational Service Center will be closed in mid-July to complete the move of the center's offices from downtown Warren to the Village Center Plaza in Niles.
The service center, which rents 27,000 square feet of office space in the county-owned Wean Building at 347 N. Park Ave., provides services such as professional development, special education and technology to the 20 public school systems in Trumbull County.
The center is moving into the Carlisle's department store building, 6000 Youngstown-Warren Road. The center will rent space from Covelli Properties Inc. of Warren for $138,473 per year. It has signed a 10-year lease.
Dr. Anthony D'Ambrosio, superintendent of the center, said the move will occur from July 5 through July 21 with the new offices operational July 21. An open house is planned Aug. 30.
The shutdown for purposes of telephone and Internet communication will begin at 1 p.m. July 19 and end on the new office's first day, July 21.
D'Ambrosio said the agency will get the building July 1. Some painting, carpeting and ceiling work are all that remain of the $375,000 renovation, he said.
The center's Trumbull Academy alternative school and Instructional Media Center will move to the Gordon D. James Vocational School sometime this summer, but a date has not been set.
