Someone in Congress is trying
Orlando Sentinel: Finally, someone in Congress has taken up President Bush's call for a bipartisan commission on the looming financial crisis if no changes are made to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.
Republican Rep. Frank Wolf of Virginia has proposed a panel aptly named SAFE, to secure America's future economy. Its bipartisan experts would deliver a package of recommendations to Congress for an up-or-down vote.
Wolf says he is open to suggestions. Members unwilling to support it have a moral obligation to come forward with something they deem better.
