Fire threatens homes in Arizona

HEBER, Ariz. (AP) -- Crews worked to contain a 5,000-acre wildfire that was within a mile of two subdivisions, authorities said Tuesday.
The fire was threatening 26 homes north of Heber, about 140 miles northeast of Phoenix. It was 30 percent contained.
Crews worked Tuesday to build containment lines on the fire's western and northern edges.
Approximately 20 residents who heeded an evacuation order Monday were at a Red Cross shelter in Heber, said Greg Eavenson, chief deputy for the Navajo County Sheriff's Department.
Lightning sparked the fire a week ago.
