Austintown Armstrong Cable 4, Canfield Mill Fast Signs 1 -- Brandon Costanza worked six innings with 10 strikeouts to pick up the win and Adam Sterling had a save. Joel Buckley hit a double and a single, while Tom DeToro hit a double. Colin Hoelzel reached base three times and had a hit for Canfield.
Canfield Mill Fast Signs 5, Austintown Armstrong Cable 4 -- Duane Mancini led Canfield with a pair of hits, scored once and drove in two runs. Adam Podolsdy also had two hits. Buckley led Austintown with two hits and he scored twice. Brandon Costanza hit a triple.
Lakeview Grafix Enterprises 14, Vienna Midland Mobile Home 3 -- Dan Whaley paced Lakeview with two doubles and a single. Darin Brown hit a double for Vienna.
Austintown Armstrong Cable 13, Poland Farmers National Bank -- DeToro had three hits and three RBIs and Buckley added three hits and scored three runs for Austintown. Sterling, Costanza and Bryon Freet each added two hits. Chad Rheus and Chris Caspary each had two hits, two stolen bases and two runs for Poland.

Austintown The Paper Center 14, Mill Creek Southwoods 1 -- Anthony Savko paced The Paper Center with three hits, including a grand slam, and drove in five runs. Michael Currao and Alex Prassinos each had three hits. Rob Rivera scored Mill Creek's only run.

Valley Sting (18-under)
Valley Sting won last week's Ohio Best of the Best tournament in Massillon. The Sting beat the Wolpack (3-0) and the Central Ohio Stingrays (3-0) before falling to the Ohio Bandits (8-5) on Friday. On Saturday, they lost to Grand Slam (1-0, eight innings) and the Ohio Ice (4-2) and beat Cincinnati Elite (4-1) and the Rattlers (8-1). In Sunday's elmination round, the Sting beat Ohio Ice (5-1), the Central Ohio Stingrays (8-0) and the Ohio Bandits (6-1) to win the winner's bracket. Sting then beat Grand Slam (the loser's bracket champion) 4-2 to claim the title. Leading the way for Sting was the pitching trio of Markie Pozzuto of Mecca (27 innings, two runs allowed), Kasey Karr of Champion (25 innings, two runs allowed) and Allie Patton of Poland (12 innings, five runs allowed). The offense was sparked by Patton (20 hits and 12 runs), Kari Thompson of Poland (15 hits and nine runs), Trisha Dreslinski of Kingsville (14 hits, eight runs, 10 RBIs), Chelsea Butler of Cortland (13 hits and 5 RBIs), Dar Bott of Conneaut (13 hits, five runs, five RBIs) and Karr (12 hits and seven RBIs). The Sting are 14-3.
