"The Amazing Story of Superman" (8 p.m., A & amp;E): It seems he's truly super. Overexposure can't sap his staying power. He's nearly 70 years old in earth years, but age has no effect on his vitality. And he doesn't need juice to keep those muscles bulging! The man in the red and blue tights is popular all right, making his latest appearance next month in the Bryan Singer-directed feature "Superman Returns."
But there's more. Since arriving in the pages of Detective Comics in 1938, Superman has emerged as the ultimate symbol of the American dream, an immigrant who leaves his devastated homeland to reinvent himself in a land of new opportunities.
Now A & amp;E Network tells the story of this alien from a doomed planet in "Look, Up in the Sky! The Amazing Story of Superman," a two-hour documentary.
"The Drug Years" (9 p.m., VH-1): The presence of illegal and illicit drugs during the latter half of the 20th century is at the center of this four-part documentary, produced in conjunction with the Sundance Channel. The program examines drugs' influence and effect on the culture and includes interviews with Peter Coyote, Jackson Browne, Tommy Chong and others. Parts 2 through 4 air Tuesday through Thursday at 9 p.m.
"How to Get the Guy" (10 p.m., ABC): From the producers of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" comes this six-episode unscripted series in which four single women search for true love in San Francisco -- a city that should provide no shortage of romantic backdrops. Helping the singles discern Mr. Right from Mr. Right Now are two "love coaches," journalist Teresa Strasser and TV host J.D. Roberto.
"Million Dollar Listing" (10 p.m., Bravo): If you thought your neighborhood was overpriced, check out some of the homes that are the focus of this unscripted series. Set in Hollywood and Malibu, Calif., the six-episode show follows real estate agents, including one who's christened herself the "condo queen," as they work to sell luxurious properties, with commissions to match. Each week, two listings are shown from the start of the selling process to the closing.
