Popadak continues binge of strikeouts

He struck out 11 as Wharmby beat R & amp;J Trucking for the second time.
STRUTHERS -- After striking out 18 in his previous start, Tom Popadak struck out 11 Sunday as Wharmby Sports handed R & amp;J Trucking its second loss of the season, 7-1, in a Class B game at Cene Park.
Popadak (2-0) also had three hits and two RBIs for Wharmby (7-4), which is the only team to defeat R & amp;J this season. Garen Ream added three hits and Ryan Romack had two.
Jim Pasquine and Xavier Godoy had back-to-back doubles for the only run for R & amp;J (9-2). Ed Rohan added a double.
Rondinelli Tuxedo 6, Astro Falcons 2
STRUTHERS -- Corey Collins had two hits, including a single in the eighth inning that drove in the go-ahead run for Rondinelli.
Collins also came on in relief of Vince Riola in the bottom of the frame with the bases loaded and one out and struck out the last two batters for his second save. Riola (3-0) had eight strikeouts in the win while Phil Double and Frank Rosile had two hits each for Rondinelli (8-3). Drew Turocy doubled and singled for Astro Falcons (8-3).
Dave Sugar Excavating 8,Roth Brothers 5
Jon Krause, Jeff Musick, and Mike Hoelzel had two hits each for Dave Sugar (5-6), which scored five runs in the first inning.
Eric Pirtz had a triple and three RBIs, Craig Clemson (2-0) got the win and Bryon Dawson got the save.
Pat Holcomb and Tyler Micsky had two hits each for Roth (1-10).
Livi Steel 6, Newell Sporting Goods 4
Tony Pozeaga doubled, tripled and drove in two runs for Livi Steel (7-4), while Josh Swipas had two hits and two RBIs. Josh Cooper (2-1) struck out five and did not allow an earned run in a complete game victory.
Jarryd Summers had two hits for Newell (2-9).
Youngstown Express 9, Mink Financial 5
Josh Fithian had two hits while Dan Janovick had a bases-loaded double that scored three runs in the six-run fifth inning for Youngstown Express (3-8).
Losing pitcher Mark Novotny had three hits for Mink (5-6) as did Rich Tisone.
Late SaturdayNewell Sporting Sports 7,Rondinelli Tuxedo 3
Andy Geibel (2-0) struck out two in a complete game victory for Newell (2-8), which took advantage of eight Rondinelli errors. Jarryd Summers singled and doubled.
Tony Brunetti had two hits for Rondinelli (7-3).
Youngstown Express 14,Roth Brothers 1
Jeff Olenych (2-1) struck out five in a complete game victory and also had three hits, three RBIs and three runs for Express (2-8), which had 16 hits. Josh Dankovich, Matt Carhart, and Ryan James added two hits each while Ryan James had three hits.
Luke Rambo had two hits for Roth (1-9).
