Red Sox 5, Rangers 4Rangers 13, Red Sox 6
BOSTON -- Mark DeRosa had four hits and two RBIs and Jerry Hairston Jr. drove in two runs in the second game of a split-admission doubleheader to help the Texas Rangers salvage a split. Hairston started in right field and went 2-for-4 to record his first hit and RBI since being acquired from the Chicago Cubs for Phil Nevin on May 31. It was Hairston's second start with the Rangers, who split the four-game series with the Red Sox to finish their 10-game road trip 6-4. After David Ortiz hit a game-ending three-run homer off Akinori Otsuka in the opener to lift the Red Sox to a 5-4 win, the Rangers jumped out to an early lead in second game and never trailed.
Tigers 10, Blue Jays 5
TORONTO -- Ivan Rodriguez homered and tied a season-high with five RBI and the Tigers won consecutive games for the first time in two weeks. Carlos Guillen had three RBI for the Tigers, who won back-to-back games for the first time since winning eight in a row from May 20-27. At 40-23, Detroit has the best record in the majors.
Twins 4, Orioles 0
MINNEAPOLIS -- Rookie Francisco Liriano allowed just one hit while striking out six in seven innings and Justin Morneau homered to lead the Twins over Baltimore. Liriano (5-1) carried a no-hitter into the fifth before Javy Lopez managed the Orioles' lone hit against the 22-year-old left-hander.
Devil Rays 8, Royals 2
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Jonny Gomes and Carl Crawford each hit two home runs and the Devil Rays matched their franchise record with six homers to beat the Royals. The Royals turned a triple play with the help of an appeal in the second inning, but could not overcome the Devil Rays, who hit six home runs to match the club record. The homers backed rookie James Shields (2-0), who extended his scoreless streak to 12 consecutive innings. Scott Elarton (1-8) gave up four runs and eight hits in 42/3 innings.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Nationals 6, Phillies 0
WASHINGTON -- Shawn Hill allowed two hits in seven innings and Jose Guillen had a two-run double for Washington. Hill (1-1) walked three and struck out four in winning for the first time since July 4, 2004, with Montreal, his only previous major league victory. The right-hander didn't pitch in 2005 after undergoing ulnar collateral ligament replacement surgery in September 2004. The only Phillies hitter to have success against Hill was Ryan Howard, who singled to left in the second and doubled to right in the fourth.
Cubs 9, Reds 3
CINCINNATI -- Carlos Marmol pitched six strong innings in his first major league start and Neifi Perez, Ronny Cedeno and Phil Nevin all homered for Chicago. Perez hit his first home run of the season and Cedeno had a career-high three RBIs for the Cubs, who've won three consecutive games for the first time since April 23-25. Marmol (1-0), who got the start when Kerry Wood was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Friday, gave up just one run and two hits. He walked three and struck out seven in his third career appearance.

Josh Hancock (3-2) earned the win in relief, striking out two in 11/3 hitless innings. Jason Isringhausen worked the ninth for his 20th save in 24 chances. It was his 160th save with the Cardinals, tying Lee Smith for the franchise record.
Dodgers 6, Rockies 5
DENVER -- Russell Martin hit a tying RBI double and pinch-hitter Sandy Alomar Jr. followed with a run-scoring single in the ninth inning for Los Angeles. Danny Baez (4-3) worked a scoreless eighth inning and Takashi Saito got the last three outs for his fourth save in four chances.
Marlins 7, Padres 3
SAN DIEGO -- Cody Ross hit a three-run homer and Dan Uggla also connected for Florida, which shook off a 10-strikeout performance by San Diego ace Jake Peavy. The Marlins, who took two of three from the Padres, lost shortstop Hanley Ramirez after he tumbled into the stands in the fifth inning. Ramirez was helped off the field and the team said he had a stiff lower back.
