Reception is held to honor Gujus on 50th anniversary
XDIAMOND -- Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church, Youngstown, was the setting at 3 p.m. June 9 for a ceremony held in celebration of the golden wedding anniversary of Dr. George C. and Theresa Guju, 15088 N. Palmyra Road.
Afterward the couple were honored during a reception held from 5 to 9 p.m. at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education and Visitor Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens, Mill Creek Park, Youngstown.
Hosts for the festivities were the couple's children, Dr. George Guju of Cincinnati; Atty. Michael Guju of Palm Harbor, Fla.; Marcy Ann Sebest of Campbell; Timothy Guju of Hayes, Va.; Carolyn Kotsol of Lanexa, Va.; and Theresa Hursh of Canfield; and their 10 grandchildren.
The former Theresa Morgan, who is also known as Teddi, and Mr. Guju were married June 9, 1956, at the church in Youngstown.
Mrs. Guju retired in 1990 from Youngstown State University where she was a professional administration advisor. She is a member of St. James Roman Catholic Parish of North Jackson; Mended Hearts, Chapter 7; a facilitator at Trumbull Memorial Hospital; a member of Fellows Gardens; and a member of the Model "T" Antique Car Club.
Dr. Guju is semi-retired from practice as a doctor of dental surgery with Dental Design Studio in Canfield. He is a member of Corydon Palmer Dental Society, the Men's Garden Club of Youngstown , Civil War Round Table, World War II Heritage Round Table and the Model "T" Antique Car Club. He served with the Army Dental Corps during the Korean Conflict.
