ELLSWORTH -- The Mahoning Valley Pony Breeders Association's 47th annual show, open to all pony breeds, will be June 24-25 at Buckeye Horse Park on U.S. Route 224. South Range car show
NORTH LIMA -- Beaver Township Ruritan Club will host its second annual car show next Sunday at South Range High School, 11836 South Ave. Proceeds benefit the Ruritan general fund, which is used for community service projects. Registration is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the entry fee is $6. The show will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Food, door prizes, a Chinese auction, and a D.J., with trophies for many categories will be featured.
Living history program
YOUNGSTOWN -- The second annual living history program that features displays of the role United States Colored Troops played during the Civil War will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Lanterman's Mill in Mill Creek Park. The presentation will be by local Colored Troops historian Steffon W. Jones of Youngstown.
Fowler History museum
FOWLER -- The David and Melissa Butts Museum, 4562 Wilson-Sharpsville Road, will be open to the public from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Sunday beginning June 25, through October, or by appointment. It has exhibits and memorabilia from Fowler history and from the township's leading families, displays on early agricultural tools and furniture from the Fowler family, who founded the township. New paving project
MESOPOTAMIA -- Officials will turn out at 3 p.m. Thursday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of a 7,900-foot paving project on Donley Road. Expected to attend are Trumbull County commissioners, township trustees, county engineer personnel and the planning commission. The ceremony will be at Donley Road East and Girdle Road in the northwest part of the township. The $156,523 project was funded through the county's Community Development Block Grant, a state grant and a local share from the township.
New Castle road work
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Traffic will be reduced to a single lane starting Monday on Cascade Street. Work on upgrading drains, traffic signals, sidewalks, inlets and milling and resurfacing 1.32 miles from Butler Avenue to Eastbrook Street will go on through September. The prime contractor for the $719,620 project is Sharon Paving and Construction Co. Inc. of Sharpsville, Pa.
Swim camp in Hubbard
HUBBARD -- Hubbard Community Pool will be hosting a "Swim N Fun Camp" for children 7 years old and older from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through June 30. The camp is designed to keep children active with games, crafts, exercises and swimming lessons. There will be certified lifeguards and/or water safety instructors on hand.
