BOARDMAN Orchestra to make music this summer

Boardman Local Schools will again sponsor the Boardman Orchestra Summer Community Orchestra (BOSCO).
The orchestra, under the direction of Rick Smrek and Frank Dispenza, is open to any current Boardman Orchestra student from grades 7 through 12; Boardman Band and Orchestra alumni; and interested musicians who live in Boardman. Selections from a wide range of styles and difficulties will be rehearsed and performed.
Musicians at all levels of proficiency are welcome. There are no auditions or tryouts.
Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m. beginning July 5 and ending Aug. 2, in the large bandroom at Boardman High School. The performance will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 6 in the Boardman Performing Arts Center.
A limited number of school-owned instruments are available for a $20 rental charge.
