White to speakat Harding banquet
WARREN -- Bill White, former president of the National Baseball League and a color commentator for the New York Yankees on CBS, will be guest speaker at the Warren Harding High baseball banquet Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Buena Vista Cafe.
A Warren High graduate, White played Major League baseball for the San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies.
Pintaric wins race
GARRETTSVILLE -- Bill Pintaric Jr. of Liberty took first place in GT Light in a Nissan at the Sports Car Club of America races held at Nelson Ledges road course.
It was his second win in a row and puts him in first place in the Division Championsip points race.
His brother David Pintaric of Canfield won in the Touring One class, driving a Corvette. It was David's second win and puts him in second in the Division Championship race.
Csaba Bujdoso of Canfield placed third in the GT-1 class driving a Chevy Camaro.
Atahan Koymen of Youngstown and Ahsen Yelkin of Youngstown finished 1-2 in the Formula Atlantic class.
Ciccone honored
STRUTHERS -- Brianne Ciccone of Struthers High School, who will attend Youngstown State this fall, has been named Academic All-Ohio.
A member of the Wildcats' 4x200-meter relay that placed eighth at the Division II state track meet, Ciccone has a 3.8 grade point average.
Grandmaster set formartial arts studio
BOARDMAN -- Grandmaster Kae Bae Chun of San Marcos, Calif., will be at Master Charles Murzda's studio at 5318 Market St. Saturday from noon-2 p.m.
Chun is a ninth degree black belt and a Taekwondo Hall of Fame member.
Canfield football camp
CANFIELD -- Cleveland Browns quarterback Ken Dorsey will be a guest instructor for the football team's Quarterback/Wide Receiver/Running Back Camp slated for June 22-23.
Other instructors are Browns wide receiver Andre King, former Browns running back Terry Kirby and 1992 Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta.
Camp hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and registration deadline is June 16.

Mooney tennis
YOUNGSTOWN -- Cardinal Mooney High School has begun construction on a five-court tennis facility across from the school in the former Dewey Park. The construction is part of the second phase of the school's campus development plan, which includes expansion and renewal of the outdoor athletic facilities. The school has already built a lighted football facility, an all-weather track and a soccer and football practice field.

AARHUS, DENMARK -- Joe Wyatt (23-0) of Pittsburgh will fight Reda Zam Zam (19-0) of Denmark for the WBA Inter-Continental Junior middleweight championship tonight.
Youngtown's Pat Nelson manages Wyatt; Jack Loew will serve as cutman during the title match.

OSU recruit arrested
CLEVELAND -- An Ohio State basketball recruit has been arrested after a jogger was shot with a BB gun.
No charges have been filed against Villa Angela-St. Joseph guard David Lighty and two other senior players who also were arrested on Wednesday.
Lighty of Cleveland, Jimmy McLeod of Cleveland and Darryl Rushton of Euclid, all 18, were being held on suspicion of assault, criminal trespassing and criminal activity on school property, police Lt. Thomas Stacho said Thursday.
James Nugent, 55, was not seriously hurt when he was hit with BBs about 9 p.m. Wednesday while jogging on the school track, Stacho said.
In Cleveland, BB and pellet guns are considered firearms and it is illegal to have them in public places.
