PITTSBURGH -- 709 Penn Gallery is exhibiting the works of Al Bright in a show titled "Beyond" that runs until July 1. An artist's talk and reception will be Friday from 5-7 p.m., and a closing reception will be held June 30 at 5 p.m., with Bright painting to live jazz music. For over four decades, Bright, an educator at Youngstown State University, has explored the realm of abstract expressionism. He is recognized internationally as a performance art pioneer, creating many of his works before public audiences to live music.
Bright is listed in the Who's Who of American Art and in the Outstanding Educators of America, and his works are in museums and in corporate and private collections in the United States and abroad.
Chesney concert inPittsburgh sold out
PITTSBURGH -- The July 30 Kenny Chesney concert at Post-Gazette Pavilion is sold out, Live Nation announced this week.
There will not be any additional tickets available on the day of the show. To ease traffic and parking, Live Nation asks fans without a ticket to not come to the amphitheater.
Carnation City Playersplan to present 'Clue'
ALLIANCE -- Carnation City Players will present "Clue, the Musical" on Friday and Saturday and June 16-18 at the Firehouse Theater. The Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m. and the Sunday matinee is at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 (adults) and $8 (students) and can be reserved by calling the box office at (330) 821-8712.

Monthly dance scheduled
YOUNGSTOWN -- Warren Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association, the local chapter of USA Dance, will hold its monthly dance June 18 at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave. The night will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a free merengue lesson sponsored by Teresa Pistacchio of Latin American Ballroom. Open dancing to ballroom, Latin, swing and hustle will follow from 6:15 to 9 p.m. The dance is open to the public.
