5 gang members indicted after federal drug probe

Undercover police bought a large quantity of drugs from the gang.
CLEVELAND -- A 15-month investigation by the Youngstown FBI, Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force and the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force Gang Unit has resulted in a 25-count federal indictment of five Youngstown men.
Gregory A. White, United States attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, said a federal grand jury sitting in Cleveland on Wednesday returned indictments on the following:
Jermaine Young, also known as "JY," 30, of Riley Avenue; Justin Young, also known as "Lil'Y," 23, of West Evergreen Avenue; Tyrone Graham, also known as Bentley, 25, of East Auburndale Avenue; Daniel Carter, also known as Daniel Carien, 26, of West Midlothian Boulevard; and Antoine Tate, 25, of Samuel Avenue.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph M. Pinjuh.
Attorneys said undercover police bought cocaine worth thousands of dollars from the men during the investigation that targeted the violent street gang known as the Tru'Boutit Clique, or TBC, operating on the South Side of Youngstown.
Charges
White said TBC is a hybrid street gang that includes former members of the 400 Block Crips gang and the Ayer Street Playas gang.
White said count one of the indictment charges all five defendants with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute, and/or distribution of more than 50 grams of crack cocaine. Eight other counts charge defendants individually with the use of a telephone to facilitate a drug trafficking offense, he said.
Another count charges Jermaine Young with being a felon in possession of a gun, a 9mm pistol. The remaining counts charge each defendant individually with the sale of various amounts of cocaine and crack cocaine, White said.
