Vennell-Roberts wedding planned for late August

CANFIELD -- Thomas and Joanne Roberts, 3658 Shields Road, are announcing the engagement of their son, Brian Roberts, and Nicole Vennell, both of 12723 Haskell Lane, Bowie, Md.
Parents of the bride-elect are Jeffrey and Judith Vennell, 40 Columbus Ave., Niantic, Conn.
Miss Vennell graduated from Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., with a bachelor's degree in psychology and American studies. She received a master's in social work from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and is a management and communications coordinator with the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Md.
Mr. Roberts is a research engineer with Space Systems Laboratory in College Park, Md. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and earned his master's in aerospace engineering at the University of Maryland in College Park.
The couple will extend invitations for the wedding they have planned for 5 p.m. Aug. 26 at McCook's Park and for their reception afterward at The Porch, both in Niantic, Conn.
