Study to be done on Mosquito Lake lodge
WARREN --The task force exploring the possibility of developing a lodge or other hospitality facility at Mosquito Lake is prepared to move the project forward.
Trumbull 100, on behalf of the coalition of government and civic groups, will hire Gateway Consultants Group Inc. of Cleveland to perform a feasibility analysis of possible hospitality facilities at the lake, the group announced Tuesday.
The study is expected to take about six months and cost about $85,000, and will result in a report and set of recommendations for the task force.
The recommendations will answer the question of whether there is a market for a lodge or similar hospitality facility and, if so, how and where it should be constructed.
William Letson, spokesman for Trumbull 100, praised the Trumbull County commissioners, and leaders from the state, the city of Cortland and those involved with the Economic Development Foundation of the Chamber of Commerce, the Travel and Tourism Bureau and Trumbull 100, for developing the seed funding to allow the analysis to go forward.
"This early effort demonstrates that the Trumbull County community is looking forward and willing to make an investment in the future which will potentially benefit the entire community," Letson said.
