Man found guilty in utility thefts



YOUNGSTOWN -- Eric Terrell, 42, of Maywood Drive, charged in two cases involving the illegal reconnection of shutoff utilities, was found guilty of three theft counts Monday in Youngstown Municipal Court.
In the first case, Terrell, known as "E, the hookup," was found guilty of one theft count. Other charges of possession of criminal tools and tampering with hydrant, pipe or meter and apparatus were dismissed by Judge Robert P. Millich.
In the another case, Terrell was found guilty of two counts of theft and one count of tampering with a hydrant, pipe or meter. Dismissed were charges of possession of criminal tools and tampering with gas pipes and apparatus.
He will be sentenced at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 9 by Judge Millich.
Terrell was arrested Dec. 27, 2005, by the Youngstown vice squad. Also arrested was William Robinson, 54, of East Woodland Avenue, who was working independently of Terrell in the same sort of utility scheme.
Robinson will be sentenced at 9:15 a.m. June 29 before Judge Millich.
In court April 25, Robinson was found guilty on two counts of theft and a count of possession of criminal tools. Other charges of theft and tampering with a hydrant, pipe or meter were dismissed.
