BOARDMAN -- Trumbull County's administrator and Hubbard's city auditor are among the 11 candidates on the short list to be township administrator.
Robyn Gallitto, trustee chairwoman, said interviews have been scheduled beginning June 14.
Seventy-one people applied for the post vacant since March 31 when trustees fired long-time administrator Curt Seditz without cause. The deputy administrator had been appointed acting administrator, but she has since resigned for another job.
Under Ohio law, in the absence of an administrator, the trustee chairman fulfills those duties, officials have said.
Each trustee whittled the list down to those they wanted to interview to develop the list of 11.
"There were quite a few [applicants] that all three of us wanted to learn more about," Gallitto said.
Narrowing the list
Some of the others to be interviewed were on the narrowed lists of two of the trustees, she said.
A time line hasn't been established for when the post will be filled, and trustees will decide how to proceed after the interviews with the candidates are completed, Gallitto said.
