Blaze shutters Center Street Auto

YOUNGSTOWN -- A city business will remain closed until roof repairs have been made after a fire late Monday morning caused $500,000 damage to the building and its contents.
Fire department officials said a blaze erupted at Center Street Auto, 1411 Wilson Ave., at 11 a.m. Monday while workers at the business were using torches to do work on a van. Workers, officials said, tried to contain the fire with fire extinguishers and a hose before calling the fire department, but the blaze became uncontrollable.
Officials said gasoline on the floor of the business and various auto parts in the vicinity of the fire may have helped fuel the fire.
Officials said the business owner, Nick Urichich, estimates $250,000 damage to the building and another $250,000 in losses to property inside the building.
No one was injured in the fire, but fire officials said the building cannot be used until damage to the building's roof has been repaired.
