Newark Catholic is Division IV champ



COLUMBUS (AP) -- Tommy Pellett's bases-loaded single brought in the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the seventh to give Newark Catholic a 3-2 win over Tipp City Bethel in the Division IV state championship Sunday.
R.L. Eisenbach took a one-hit shutout and a 1-0 lead into the top of the seventh but gave up singles to Mike Kley and Derek Goins.
Both scored thanks to three Newark Catholic errors.
Eisenbach (9-0) struck out 11 and issued just one walk.
Jason Hess doubled and scored in the second for Newark Catholic (30-4).
Goins (6-3) held Newark Catholic to five hits but walked eight for Bethel (22-6).
