McConaughey, Cruz split
LOS ANGELES -- The "sexiest man alive" is available again.
Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz "have decided to split," Cruz's spokesman, Robert Garlock, told The Associated Press on Friday.
McConaughey's representative, Alan Nierob, confirmed the breakup, first reported by People magazine.
The couple co-starred in 2005's "Sahara."
McConaughey, People's reigning hunk of hunks, appeared in this year's "Failure to Launch."
Cruz, 32, stars in Pedro Almodovar's new film, "Volver (Return)," which just made a splash at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
Cruz and McConaughey, 36, parted ways four weeks ago due to busy work schedules, People reports.
Green to host online showlive from his living room
DENVER -- Tom Green is getting another late-night talk show -- this time online.
Nearly three years after MTV axed his show, ManiaTV.com will begin hosting a weekly call-in show with the comedian on June 15, live from his living room in the Hollywood Hills.
"Tom Green Live" will be broadcast and archived on both Denver-based ManiaTV.com and Green's Web site. He is signed up to do 50 one-hour episodes for an undisclosed fee.
Green, a cancer survivor once married to actress Drew Barrymore, will host the show from his old MTV desk set in front of his fireplace. He quipped that he might end up interviewing his cleaning lady and landscaper.
Daughtry won't join Fuel
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Former "American Idol" contestant Chris Daughtry said Saturday he has turned down an offer to be lead singer for the band Fuel.
Daughtry, in Greensboro for a day of welcome-home appearances, said he expects to announce his next career move in few months, probably after he finishes with an "American Idol" summer concert tour.
"I'm going to be doing my own thing," Daughtry told The Charlotte Observer.
The band offered Daughtry a job hours after viewers voted him off the Fox television talent show last month. Bass player Jeff Abercrombie and guitarist Carl Bell made their pitch on the TV show "Extra." He would have replaced Brett Scallions, who quit the multiplatinum rock band in February.
