Man bowls record 102 hours, raises $13,000 for charity

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) -- Through aching feet and blurry eyes, an Ohio man bowled 102 hours, 1 minute and 25 seconds to reclaim his world record for endurance bowling.
Dave Wilson, 40, of Mason near Cincinnati, on Saturday finished the last of 481 games played over more than four days. He reported bowling a 236 in one game, but it wasn't splits and strikes he was after.
The feat raised more than $13,000 in pledges from spectators, which Wilson is donating to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Building Blocks Foundation, which helps children with medical needs.
Wilson is awaiting official confirmation from the Guinness Book of World Records. He held the record for about five days last June after bowling for 64 hours, 22 minutes, but a Canadian who'd never bowled before broke it by going 100 hours.
Wilson wanted to reclaim the record to raise money for charity after his mother, Peggy, died of breast cancer in January. He bowled using her blue, 12-pound ball for part of the marathon and kept a poster-sized photo of her near his lane.
