MINNEAPOLIS -- Rookie Seimone Augustus scored a season-high 31 points and Amber Jacobs scored a career-high 16 for Minnesota. Augustus scored 12 in the final period and three in the final 40 seconds for the Lynx, who held off a furious Fever charge in the game's final two minutes. Augustus bested her previous season-high for the third consecutive game, while center Nicole Ohlde pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds to go with a season-best 13 points. Tamika Whitmore led the Fever with a season-high 26 points and all five Indiana starters finished in double-figures.
Comets 71, Sky 60
HOUSTON -- Tina Thompson scored 23 points to lead Houston to its fourth straight victory. Thompson scored 11 points in the third quarter as the Comets won the first meeting between the teams and improved to 2-0 on a three-game homestand. MVP Sheryl Swoopes, who left Wednesday's game against Indiana with back spasms, added 13 points for the Comets, who have not trailed at any point in 15 consecutive quarters. Amanda Lassiter scored 12 points in the second half and led Chicago with 14 as the expansion Sky lost their fourth straight after opening the season with an 83-82 win over Charlotte.
