Officials seeking public input
The project is scheduled to begin in 2010 and take a year.
ELLSWORTH -- The public may provide input on a proposed project to eliminate the hill at the state Route 45 and Leffingwell Road intersection during an open house Monday.
The Ohio Department of Transportation's open house public involvement meeting will run from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ellsworth Elementary School, 6194 S. Salem Warren Road.
The estimated $1.9 million project is scheduled to begin construction in winter 2010 and take a year to finish. During construction, the road will be closed to through traffic and a detour will be posted. Access to all homes and establishments will be maintained throughout the project.
ODOT says the proposed projects will not adversely affect any ecological resources, cultural resources or impact suspected hazardous waste sites. The projects will not result in substantial impacts to the environment either individually or cumulatively.
At the public meeting, plans and mapping showing the proposed improvements, proposed detours, proposed maintenance of traffic, and environmental documentation will be displayed for viewing. Representatives from ODOT and design consultants will be available to discuss the projects and address any questions.
Questions and/or comments regarding this project may be submitted during the public meeting or by mailing them to Mohamed Darwish, District 4 Deputy Director, Ohio Department of Transportation, 2088 S. Arlington Road, Akron 44306-4243 Attention: Jack Noble.
Comments must be submitted by June 30.
