Class B rained out
The games scheduled for Friday night at Cene Park in the Class B league were rained out. They were rescheduled for Tuesday.
Phantoms draft
BOARDMAN -- The Mahoning Valley Phantoms announced their tenders for the 2006-07 season and their selections from the recent North American Hockey League draft.
Tenders were offered to defenseman Matt Bartkowski (6-foot-1, 190 pounds); goalie Garrett Bartus (6-0, 160); forward Chad Boeckman (6-0, 185); forward Michael Fillinger (5-11, 170); defenseman Brett Hagen (6-0, 205); defenseman Robert Harrison (5-11, 190); forward Tyler Murovich (5-9, 160); defenseman Janis Purins (6-2, 210); defenseman Brian Rieckoff (5-10, 170); forward Furman South (6-2, 190), and forward Miles Winter (6-3, 215).
Draft picks were goalie Kyle Funkenhauser (5-11, 165); forward Brad Reck (6-4, 215); defenseman Eric Ringel (6-0, 180); forward Dustin Meyer, and defenseman Josh Schmitt (6-0, 180).
A tryout camp will be held Friday through Sunday at the Ice Zone. From there, selected players will advance to the an invitational camp in June.
Trumbull HOF
WARREN -- The Trumbull County Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 5 at the Golden Gate Restaurant, Parkman Road, Warren, with 13 people set for enshrinement.
This year's inductees are Dave Arnold (football), Frank & quot;Chips & quot; Bellino (golf), Dave Blaney (racing), Frank Bubba (coaching/basketball), John Delserone (coaching/football), Russ Hake (football), Tony Mason (coaching/football), Dianne Rappach (basketball), Ted Rupe (cross country), Mel Staats (contribution to sports), Ralph Stringer (football), Lou West (football) and Gene Zorn (coaching/basketball).
Tickets are $20 each and can be obtained by calling Bob Fick at (330) 540-2733.
Special Olympics
AUSTINTOWN -- The Mahoning County Special Olympics 37th Invitational Track & amp; Field Meet will be held June 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Austintown Fitch High's Falcon Stadium.
There will be 11 schools in the meet, which is being sponsored by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Chick-Fil-A.
The competing schools are Ashtabula County Special Olympics, Columbiana County MR/DD, Geauga County MR/DD, Mahoning County MR/DD Special Olympics, Mahoning County Public, Stark County Board of MR/DD Roadrunners, Summit County Board of MR/DD, Trumbull Fairhaven, Trumbull Public Special Olympics, Warrensville Developmental Center and Youngstown Developmental Center.
Special volunteers are Division 21 Kiwanis Clubs, Youngstown Police, Pellin Ambulance, Boy Scout Troop No. 3, Aut Mori Clowns, Mahoning Valley Amateur Radio Association, Greater Youngstown Track Officials, Mahoning Valley Track Officials, Canfield Community Band, Mahoning County Masons, Gold Wing Road Riders, Volunteer Service Agency, Cardinal Mooney Service Club, Poland cross country team, AFL-CIO Union Counselors, American Business Women's Association and American Legion 301.
Diane Filicky is the Mahoning County event director while David Grossman is the local coordinator.

Buckeyes coachreleased after surgery
COLUMBUS -- Ohio State offensive coordinator Jim Bollman was discharged from the Ohio State University Medical Center following heart bypass surgery May 27.
Bollman was resting at home after being released Thursday, Ohio State said.
Bollman, 51, is in his sixth year on the Buckeyes staff. There is no timetable for his return to work.

Castillo-Corralesfight is off
LAS VEGAS -- Jose Luis Castillo couldn't make weight, and Diego Corrales was determined not to make the same mistake again.
Their WBC lightweight title fight was called off Friday after Castillo didn't come close to making the 135-pound limit, and Corrales decided it was too dangerous for him to fight him at a heavier weight.
Roy Jones Jr.: Loss will end career
BOISE, Idaho -- Roy Jones Jr. says he'll quit boxing if he loses his next fight.
"I doubt it, but if I do lose I'm pretty much going to be calling it a day," Jones said Friday, promoting his fight next month with Prince Badi Ajamu.
