Post office in Poland plans event to promote passports
POLAND -- The Poland branch post office will host a Passport Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and will be open to the public, Branch Manager Tim Needham said.
The Passport Fair is designed to encourage customers to get passports, because soon, passports will be needed to travel to Canada or Mexico, Needham said. During the fair, the office will have three extra sales associates dedicated to passports only, making it easier for people to apply, he said.
To apply for a passport, applicants must supply a passport application, which is available at the event, proof of citizenship, proof of identity, passport fees and two identical color passport photos.
The costs
Passport photographs will be taken at the event for a $15 charge. Passport costs for people 16-years and older include a $67 passport fee, which will go to the U.S. Department of State, and a $30 United States Postal Service Acceptance Fee. Children less than 16 years of age will pay a $52 passport fee and a $30 USPS Acceptance Fee.
Passports will be received within six weeks from the time passport agencies receive the completed application. Express Mail is available for an additional fee.
Light refreshments will be available at the event. There will be a retail specialist from the Cleveland District present to answer any questions.
