Ohio EPA plans public hearing on WAE Corp. proposal
CORTLAND -- The Ohio EPA will have a public hearing June 13 on a proposed WAE Corp. residential development's potential impact on water quality.
The information and public comment session concerns the application of WAE Corp., 346 Chevoit Place, for up to 1.23 acres of wetlands and 602 linear feet of stream on a 17.7-acre parcel west of Cedar Drive and south of Myrtle Avenue.
A year ago, Onyx Circle and Turquoise Drive residents said they are being flooded since the construction was done to extend Cedar Drive.
The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Agriculture and Family Education Center, 520 W. Main St. The Ohio EPA's review is to determine if the project would comply with state water quality standards -- in this instance, the Walnut Creek watershed.
Anyone interested in being placed on a mailing list for this project or sending written comments should contact: Ohio EPA, Division of Surface Water, Permits Processing Unit, P.O. Box 1049, Columbus, OH 43216-1049. The public comment period ends June 20. WAE's application and related materials are available for review by calling (614) 644-2001.
