Clarinet, sax reported stolen

CANFIELD -- Musical instruments are once again missing from Canfield Middle School.
Canfield police report that a clarinet was taken sometime between May 15 and 19, and that a saxophone was taken from the band room either Thursday or Friday.
The missing clarinet was reported to police Tuesday.
Police said Wednesday there are no suspects identified in the new case.
In February, two saxophones and a trombone were stolen from the middle school. Police arrested Adrienne Kurylak, 20, of Aspen Drive in Austintown and charged her with those thefts. A Canfield detective recovered those stolen instruments from area pawn shops.
Kurylak was also charged in the theft of instruments from Fitch High School and Frank Ohl Middle School in Austintown.
Five instruments went missing from those schools in January and February. Also charged in the Austintown case was Amanda Devault, 19, of Timber Lane. She was not charged in Canfield.
On April 12 Devault entered drug court, a diversion program for drug addicts charged with nonviolent drug-related felonies. Those who successfully complete the drug court program have their charges dismissed.
Kurylak's case, which included the Austintown and Canfield charges, was transferred to the common pleas court from the county courts. The thefts were considered a felony because of the value of the instruments, and all felonies are routinely transferred.
She was indicted by a Mahoning County Grand Jury, and on Wednesday she pleaded innocent to five counts of theft before common pleas Judge Maureen Cronin. She applied for participation in the drug court. Judge Cronin ordered her placed on electronically monitored house arrest pending the outcome of her drug court application.
If Kurylak isn't accepted for drug court, her case will be set for trial before Judge Cronin.
