Apartment building hearing scheduled

YOUNGSTOWN -- A hearing regarding the state of a Boardman apartment building the township and residents want repaired is set for Aug. 9.
The township filed a complaint earlier this month for preliminary and permanent injunctions in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court naming Donald R. Snipes of the city and guardians for William Busch as defendants.
Snipes is the owner of record of the property on Hillman Way. It was transferred from Busch to Snipes in April 2004, but township officials have said the transfer is in dispute.
The township issued a property maintenance code violation last year, citing windows and door frames found to be in disrepair. A property management company had been making repairs to the building but those repairs stopped last summer when Mahoning County Probate Court ordered the company to stop spending the money because of the ownership dispute.
