Warren man wanted in string of break-ins

WARREN -- An arrest warrant has been issued for a 32-year-old Warren man wanted in a rash of burglaries in the city and in Howland Township.
Harold William Michael is wanted on charges of receiving stolen property and fleeing and eluding police.
Warren police Lt. Gary Vingle said Michael was identified through long surveillance by city and Howland police and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the charges are related to some 40 break-ins of garages and sheds in Warren and about 15 in Howland.
On May 5, police attempted to stop a van they believed was involved in a break-in on Perkinswood Boulevard. The driver sped off and crashed the vehicle on Niles Road, where the occupants fled.
The van was traced to an East Avenue residence where they found stolen equipment.
Vingle said changes are expected to be filed against others as a result of the ongoing investigation.
