Star Supply sets Fiery Arts Festival for this Saturday



YOUNGSTOWN -- The first Star Supply Fiery Arts Festival will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The festival will be held outdoors at Star Supply, 875 Mahoning Ave., near downtown.
Hourly demonstrations of fire-related artwork will be given in a large tent. Ceramic artist Lynn Cardwell will demonstrate raku firing; potter Nancy Sontich will demonstrate the use of the potter's wheel; and glass artist Robyn Maas will demonstrate lampworking, which is glass bead forming.
Sculptor Tony Armeni will judge a sculpture contest for art students of the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School.
Other area artists will display and sell their artwork on the grounds. Music will be provided by DJ Carl Sevarino and food concession stands will be on the site. Also, two giant sculptural guitars from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland will be set up.
Admission is free.
