Sandcastle Waterpark, right, opens for the season at 11 a.m. In addition to a wild array of waterslides, pools, a wave pool, kiddie zone and the world's largest hot tub, the Pittsburgh park's most unique attraction is its old fashioned boardwalk. It's not quite Ocean City, but it's a lot closer.
New on the Boardwalk this year are a healthy dose of healthy foods, such as chicken salads and turkey wraps.
Another new addition is Waves, an under-18 nightclub, open every Friday night between June 30 and Aug. 11. Sandbar, the adult nightclub, opens June 9.
Also new this year is Saturday Night Swim (July 1 to Aug. 12). After the slides close for the evening, the lights go on at the wave pool until 10 p.m. The Formula One Speedway and basketball game also will remain open.
All U.S. military members with a current military ID card will be admitted to the park free during the month of June. Spouses and children will get in for half-price.

Joe Deninzon, who is known as the Jimi Hendrix of the violin, and Jann Klose, his longtime tourmate, will make another stop in Youngstown.
