Scleroderma Fun Walk to be held in Boardman park



BOARDMAN -- Boardman Township Park will be the setting Saturday for the third annual Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma Fun Walk.
The entrance fee is $10. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the walk will get under way at 9:30 a.m. Refreshments will be provided for walkers and volunteers throughout the day, and there will be prizes, a Chinese auction, a 50-50 raffle, a disc jockey, clowns and other activities.
The Scleroderma Foundation estimates that more than 20,000 Ohio citizens suffer from the ailment, an autoimmune disease that affects one out of five Americans, usually women in their early 20s. The disease can be fatal as it provides complications to internal organs.
