5 submit bids for building

NORTH LIMA -- Five companies submitted bids for a proposed addition to the Beaver Township safety building.
Richard Lotze, township clerk, said trustees plan a special meeting to further discuss the project.
The five companies' base bids are Brock Builders Inc. of Poland, $460,397; Kreidler Construction of Poland, $472,870; Aberdeen Corp. of Boardman, $535,000; J. Herbert Construction Co. of Salem, $542,750; and Hively Construction Co. of Canfield, $577,500.
There were alternate items, not included in the base bids, that could increase the general contract amount.
Other bids were submitted for individual aspects of the project such as plumbing and electrical work.
Earlier this year, trustees discussed construction of an 8,500-square-foot expansion to the fire building on West South Range Road, saying the fire department had outgrown the building and needs more space.
