Suspect arrested in rape

A tip helped police arrest the suspect on Mahoning Avenue.
YOUNGSTOWN -- A man accused of performing oral sex on a handicapped man at gunpoint allegedly told the victim, "Don't be scared. I do this with other boys all the time."
Ronald Kolb, 54, of West Chalmers Avenue, was charged early Sunday with kidnapping and rape.
The victim, a 22-year-old Youngstown man with cerebral palsy, identified Kolb and his vehicle, according to Youngstown police.
The victim said he was working at a tavern in the 1600 block of Mahoning Avenue about 2:10 a.m. Sunday. The victim told police he had just taken out the trash when a man put a gun to the back of his head and said, "Come with me or I will kill you."
The two got into the suspect's white car, traveled to 1810 Mahoning Ave. and parked in a rear parking lot. The victim told police that when the man pulled into a parking space, the car's bumper hit a trash bin.
Police said that Kolb allegedly performed oral sex while holding a small, silver semi-automatic pistol. The young man said he was afraid for his life, and because of cerebral palsy was unable to defend himself.
The suspect allegedly drove the young man back to the bar and gave the him a piece of paper with the name "Ron," a phone number and seven $1 bills.
Kolb told the young man to call him if he ever needed anything and threatened to kill him if he called police, according to the police report.
The victim was treated by an ambulance service and then went to Northside Medical Center.
Apprehension
Police said they received a tip and stopped Kolb while he was driving west on Mahoning Avenue. Police said the victim identified Kolb and the car.
Police said they took Kolb's cell phone and called the number the rapist had allegedly given the victim. Kolb's phone rang, police said.
Police said they also found fresh white paint on the trash bin at the restaurant.
