NEW WILMINGTON Westminster College sets Celebrity Series

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Westminster College has announced the lineup for its Celebrity Series for the 2006-07 season.
"We are unusually excited about the large-scale shows that make up our next season," said Gene DeCaprio, director of the series.
The season debuts Sept. 16 with a concert featuring Broadway stars Linda Eder and Michael Feinstein. Eder's voice and song interpretations have earned her the reputation of being equal to her role models, Judy Garland and Barbara Streisand. Feinstein, a four-time Grammy-Award nominee pianist and vocalist, performs with symphony orchestras and in solo concerts around the country.
Rhythm of the Dance to the Westminster stage on Nov. 16. This richly costumed program uses the spirit of Irish national dances and songs, with modern influences. It is one of the top three Irish dance companies in the world, and has performed to over three million people worldwide.
Christmas in Vienna
"Christmas in Vienna" with the Vienna Choir Boys takes the stage Dec. 19.
The choir, formally called the Wiener Sangerknaben, was founded in Austria in 1498. The choir performs with opera companies and the world's premier symphony orchestras.
Bobby Vinton, a multi-talented musician, singer and actor, comes to Westminster Feb. 17. He has sold more than 75 million records during his career -- more than Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley. Vinton will be joined by an orchestra and family members to sing his most beloved hits including.
On March 17, the Three Phantoms in Concert will be joined by the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. The Phantoms are three of the men who played the lead role in "Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway.
The series concludes April 16, with "Wonderful Town," a 2003 Tony Award winner for Best Choreography.
This musical centers around two sisters, fresh off the bus from Ohio, ready to follow their dreams.
Season subscriptions, which range in price from $204 to $214, and single show tickets, which range in price from $37 to $52, are currently on sale.
