Bokesch 60th is celebrated at family event



XYOUNGSTOWN -- The 60th anniversary of their marriage was celebrated by Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Bokesch, 310 Parkgate Ave., during a family gathering held June 24 at the home of a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Patty Bokesch of Youngstown.
Also participating in the event were family members Michael and Peggy Beaudis and Bryan and Michele O'Shaughnessy, all of Youngstown, and Eugene and Val Thomas of Carmel, Ind., and the couple's seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Bokesch and the former Patricia M. Sugrue were married May 11, 1946, at St. Columba Cathedral. They are members of St. Joseph Church, Austintown, where she was president of the Ladies Guild and the Parish Council, and was a CCD teacher and he is a member of the Men's Club.
Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Bokesch, a homemaker, was a secretary with the French government in Washington. She is a member of Youngstown Saxon Club Branch 22 and president of Youngstown Saxon Retirees.
Mr. Bokesch served five years with the U.S. Army Air Force and retired in 1978 from Sears and Roebuck, where he was a division manager. He is a member of VFW Post 301 in Austintown and Youngstown Saxon Club Branch 30
