Struthers man arraigned on charges of drunken driving and obstruction

STRUTHERS -- A man facing four criminal charges posted 10 percent of his $8,000 bond Friday morning to get out of jail, and he is now awaiting his next hearing Sept. 11.
Police charged Sheldon M. Reese, 32, of Center Road, with assault, criminal damaging/endangering, obstructing official business, and driving under the influence. He was arrested Thursday night.
Police responded to a call from a concerned citizen who stated that a silver truck was driving erratically. The police then conducted a traffic stop in a driveway on Center Road.
The officers said they approached the driver, identified as Reese, and smelled alcohol on his breath. They said Reese was being verbally abusive during the first sobriety test, so they arrested him and took him to the police department.
While at the station, police said Reese failed to cooperate during his breath-analysis test. While continuing to yell obscenities and threaten the officers, Reese was escorted to the city jail, officers said.
Officers said that moments later, Reese began to yell, throw objects inside the cell range, and make verbal threats to the officers. Police told him to calm down.
Two officers attempted to move Reese to another jail area, and when they entered the cell range, Reese punched one of the officers. The suspect was then transported to Mahoning County jail, where he was held without bond pending Friday's arraignment.
