Man charged in accident

YOUNGSTOWN -- Charges of vehicular assault and failure to stop after an accident against Nelson L. Kennedy, 49, of Fountain Square Drive, Austintown, were bound over Friday from municipal court to a Mahoning County grand jury.
Police said that around 4 a.m. July 16, Kennedy was driving east on Four Mile Run Road and ran the stop sign at Meridian Road, striking a car driven by Sam Moffie, 46, of Lockwood Boulevard, Boardman. Moffie was going north on Meridian and slowing down to turn onto Four Mile Run when his vehicle was hit, police said. Kennedy left the scene, reports show. Moffie's injuries included a broken back.
