$375,000 street resurfacing contract awarded in New Castle



NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Council has agreed to pay Youngblood Paving Inc. nearly $375,000 to resurface portions of 10 of the city's streets.
The Wampum, Pa., paving company was the lowest of three bidders, city officials said.
The contract was awarded at a meeting last week.
Money from a bond issue sold last year will be used to pay for the project.
The streets are:
Almira Street, from East Washington Street to the dead end.
Arlington Avenue, East Washington Street to Long Avenue.
Fairfield Avenue, Carlisle Street to Albert Street.
Friendship Street, Pollock Avenue to Cunningham Avenue.
Grandview Avenue, Butler Avenue to Cascade Street.
Lowry Street, West Washington Street to Falls Street Bypass.
Meyer Avenue, Mercer Street to Highland Avenue.
Sixth Street, Clayton Street to Maple Street.
South Lafayette Street, Montgomery Avenue to dead end.
Wilson Avenue, Arlington Avenue to Frank Avenue.
