21-year-old Cincinnati Marine dies

CINCINNATI (AP) -- A 21-year-old Ohio Marine killed in Iraq had planned to return on leave in October to see his daughter, born two weeks ago, for the first time, family members said.
Cpl. Timothy Roos of Delhi Township in suburban Cincinnati was killed Thursday in Ramadi, said his father, Rick.
Rick Roos said he said he did not know the circumstances of his son's death.
Timothy Roos joined the Marines right after his high school graduation in 2003, his father said.
"He loved doing his job and loved the Marine Corps," Rick Roos said. "He'd been wanting to be a Marine ever since he was 2."
Roos had survived four attacks in Iraq before he was killed.
Just a few weeks ago, a rocket-propelled grenade attack left him burned on his legs, arms and face.
After he survived a humvee explosion in May, Roos told a Marine news publication that the work of a Marine was frightening.
"But it is our job, so you've got to do it," he told the Marine Corps News.
Roos was to return to Ohio in October on a brief leave so he could see his daughter, Annaliese. Roos and his wife Sara had been married for three years.
Rick Roos last talked to his son a day before his death, and they made plans for the visit, including going to Wisconsin for a Green Bay Packers game.
