Undercover buys lead to drug arrests

NILES -- Police have rounded up eight people, including six alleged to be drug peddlers, after a seven-month investigation.
The eight, four of them from Niles, are charged with trafficking in drugs, permitting drug abuse or probation violations, police said.
Arrests were made by the Niles Narcotics Unit, U.S. Marshal Service, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, Trumbull County Sheriff's Office and Warren, Howland and McDonald police.
Police said undercover buys were made of crack cocaine, OxyContin and Valium. They noted that there is no ringleader involved for those charged with drug offenses; rather, they were acting as individuals. Additional arrests will be made during the next several days.
Those arrested and the charges against them:
* Gerald Woods, 52, of Niles, trafficking in drugs.
* Louis Jackson, 55, of Niles, three counts of trafficking in drugs.
* Julian Folsome, 22, of Niles, three counts of drug trafficking.
