Poland ace Modic leads Slammers

WARREN -- Jenna Modic of Poland pitched a one-hitter, leading Little Slammers of North Canton to 4-0 victory over Central Jersey Lighting in the PONY 13 and under national fastpitch softball tournament Wednesday at Packard Park.
Modic allowed only an infield single and had nine strikeouts in a winner's bracket game. Modic also hit two singles, scored once and drove in a run for the Slammers.
The Little Slammers will play at Liberty today at 11:30 a.m.
