Cause of Campbell fire under investigation

CAMPBELL -- Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged an unoccupied rental property at 590 12th St. City firefighters were called to the manufactured home around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and were on the scene about two hours. Coitsville firefighters assisted.
Fire officials believe the blaze started in a back bedroom of the house, which was clean and ready for new tenants.
State fire marshals will determine if the fire was the work of an arsonist, since no natural cause could be found.
Firefighters said a window in the room where the fire started was broken. Fire damage was contained to that room and an adjacent bathroom, but there was smoke damage throughout. Loss was estimated at $5,000 to $6,000, firefighters said.
