Canfield dentist offers free service for child indentifications

CANFIELD -- Dentist Dr. Lori Fitzgerald is offering free child identification dental impressions at her office at 5711 Shields Road from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday. Like fingerprints, dental impressions, or toothprints, are unique to every person and can serve as an accurate method of identification should anything ever happen, Dr. Fitzgerald said.
Toothprints is a patented, arch-shaped thermo-plastic wafer that records individual tooth characteristics and positions when the child bites into it. It also captures saliva, the scent of which can be used for scent-dog tracking. The dental bite impressions process is comfortable for a child and takes only a few minutes, Dr. Fitzgerald said.
One hundred kits are available. Preregistration is not necessary. Call (330) 533-0804 for information.
