Police probe assault on 19-year-old man



GIRARD -- Police are investigating an early Monday morning assault on West Liberty Street.
According to police reports, a woman called police and said her boyfriend had been "jumped." Reports say officers arrived at the West Liberty Street apartment and found a 19-year-old man bleeding and disoriented. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment. The woman said $70 was missing from her boyfriend's wallet.
Police interviewed another West Liberty Street man who admitted striking the injured man.
It is unclear how many people hit the 19-year-old man.
No arrests have been made.
