XHUBBARD -- A reception was held at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman in honor of Ryan Mathieu and his bride, the former Megan Chovan, after their wedding at 2 p.m. July 1 at St. Patrick Church.
The Rev. Tim O'Neill officiated for the daughter of John and Barbara Chovan, 204 Maple Leaf Drive, and the son of Jim and Cindy Mathieu, 6 Elrond, Pittsburgh.
After a honeymoon at Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the couple live at 235 Clay Drive, Pittsburgh.
The strapless gown worn by the bride featured a beaded and embroidered bodice, and the skirt had a front and back pleat and flowed into a chapel train.
Shrimp-colored gowns were worn by the bride's sisters and honor attendants, Nicole Holland and Michelle Chovan, and the bridesmaids, Tammy Newell, Melissa Holdford, Laura Stefanick and Amy Mathieu, the groom's sister-in-law.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's brother, Braeden Mathieu, and groomsmen were Jim Mathieu, also his brother; Rich Holland, the bride's brother-in-law; Geoff Hatton; Rob Janke; and Tim McGuire.
The bride graduated cum laude with a degree in elementary education from Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa. She is a fifth-grade teacher with Penn Hills School District, Pittsburgh.
The groom, a provider representative with UPMC Health Plan in Pittsburgh, earned a degree in business administration at Westminster College.
