AustinWoods, 4780 Kirk Road, Austintown, will host an art show for local artists from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Light refreshments will be served.
CRAFT SHOWS
A public holiday craft and gift fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Chevrolet Centre, 229 Front St., Youngstown. There will be free parking and drawings. FUNDRAISERS
Children's Aid Society Auxiliary will hold an ice cream social from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday during the summer concert on the lawn of the Mercer County Courthouse, Mercer, Pa.
Help Hotline Crisis Center and the Potential Development Program will hold an old-fashioned Amish dinner and auction from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 12 at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. Dinner will feature baked chicken, roast beef, mashed potatoes, stuffing, homemade bread and pies. The silent and Chinese auctions will feature such items as gift baskets, gift certificates and event tickets. GOLF OUTING
East Side Kiwanis will hold its 16th annual Charity Golf Classic on Aug. 7 at Tippecanoe Country Club, Canfield. There will be a buffet luncheon at 11 a.m., and play will begin with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Awards will be presented at the 6:30 p.m. dinner. St. William Church, 5431 Mahoning Ave., Champion, will hold a three-day rummage sale. Hours for the event are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 3, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 5 (dollar-a-bag day).
SPECIAL EVENTS
American Cancer Society is sponsoring a free Tell-A-Friend Tea from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 19 at the YWCA, 1098 N. Ellsworth Ave., Salem, for women in Columbiana County age 40 and over. The program will be on breast-health awareness and what is being done to eliminate the disease. Kelly Stevens of WHOT FM 101 will be the emcee, and music will be by Brenda Rider and the ROCKK Children's Choir. Lunch will be provided. TRIPS
Fowler Township Historical Society is sponsoring a bus tour of Ohio Sept. 21-24. Highlights of the tour include visits to the Thomas Edison Birthplace Museum in Milan, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton and The Wilds, a safari in Cambridge. Tour director will be Trumbull County historian Wendell Lauth. Cost is $390 per person and includes the bus, admission to all museums and a hotel room. The deadline for registration is Aug. 20. St. Paul Church in Salem is sponsoring a seven-day bus trip to Cape Cod Oct. 8-14. Included will be tours of Boston, Plymouth, Provincetown, the JFK Museum and the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. There will be a Hyannis Harbor cruise and a side trip to a casino in Foxwood, Conn. Featured will be six full-course breakfasts and dinners, including a lobster bake.
