Rummage sale to benefit support groups, caregivers

CANFIELD -- The Alzheimer's Assistance Referral Network will hold an annual rummage sale Thursday through Saturday at Western Reserve Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. each day and continue until 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and until noon Saturday.
Featured at the sale will be a variety of toys and collectibles, household items and clothing. Donations of items for the sale will be accepted during the morning hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the church.
Arrangements for the event are being made by Dorothy Barto, AARN adviser, and Patti Corsale, and their committee members.
Purpose
Proceeds will benefit support groups that continue throughout the summer in Austintown, Boardman, Campbell, Canfield, Girard, Greenville, Poland, Salem and Warren, and caregiver seminars that are scheduled periodically throughout the region and are free to the public with reservations.
The seminars help concerned family members of Alzheimer's patients to better understand the changes that they and the patients are experiencing.
The AARN serves the local area by providing other useful resources such as workshops and informational materials, and it contributes to research facilities in Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
